What the FxPro demo gives you

FxPro's free demo is unusual in one specific way: it covers four platforms — MT4, MT5, cTrader and FxPro's own app — so it is the cheapest way to find out which platform you actually prefer before committing. No deposit is needed, prices are live, and you can run demos on more than one platform at the same time.

How to open a FxPro demo account

  1. 1

    Register and choose your platform

Open a demo from FxPro's site and pick MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app. If you are undecided, create demos on two of them — this is the main advantage FxPro has over single-platform brokers.

  2. 2

Match the demo account type to what you would fund

Spreads differ substantially between account types. A demo on the wrong one shows you numbers you will never see live, so choose the same type you intend to open for real.

  3. 3

    Set a realistic virtual balance

FxPro lets you choose the amount. Pick what you genuinely plan to deposit — the live minimum is around $100 — rather than a six-figure balance that teaches unusable position sizes.

  4. 4

Install the platform and log in with the emailed credentials

You need the server name, login number and password FxPro sends you. This is the step where people assume MetaTrader works on its own: it does not, it is only a terminal until a broker's credentials fill it with prices.

  5. 5

Compare the same trade across two platforms

Open the same instrument in, say, MT5 and cTrader. cTrader's depth-of-market and order handling feel very different from MetaTrader's. A week of this decides your platform properly, and it costs nothing.

What this demo cannot teach you

A demo is the cheapest tuition available, and it has blind spots that matter. These are the ones specific to FxPro:

  • cTrader and MetaTrader demos are separate accounts — progress and history do not carry across.
  • Demo execution is smoother than no-dealing-desk live execution, so fills will look better than they are.
  • Withdrawal speed. A demo has no cashier, so it cannot tell you how long real money takes to come back.
  • Slippage in fast markets. Demo servers usually fill you at the price you clicked; live ones do not, especially around economic releases.
  • Your own behaviour under real loss. Virtual money does not produce the impulse to widen a stop or double down, which is what actually empties accounts.

Why four platforms is the actual selling point

Most brokers give you MetaTrader and their own app, so the platform choice is made for you. FxPro adds cTrader, which is a genuinely different tool: better depth-of-market visibility, cleaner order management, and a modern interface that many traders prefer once they have tried it. The problem is that nobody can tell you which platform suits you from a screenshot. Running a free demo on two or three of them for a week is the only way to find out, and it is the strongest reason to open an FxPro demo specifically rather than any other.

No-dealing-desk execution and what the demo hides

FxPro advertises no-dealing-desk execution, meaning orders are passed to liquidity providers rather than taken by the broker. That is a real structural advantage on a live account, and it is also the thing a demo represents least accurately: demo servers fill you at the requested price almost always, whereas live NDD execution can requote or slip in fast markets. Expect live fills to be slightly worse than practice fills — that gap is normal and is not the broker misbehaving.

Which entity, and the higher minimum

FxPro operates through several entities including FCA, CySEC, FSCA and SCB-licensed companies, and which one onboards you depends on your country. The demo does not tell you this; the account-opening screen does. FxPro's minimum deposit is also higher than XM's or Exness's, around $100, which makes the free demo more valuable — you want to be sure about the platform before putting up a three-figure first deposit.

FxPro demo: quick answers

Is the FxPro demo account free?

Yes. Demos on MT4, MT5, cTrader and the FxPro app are all free, require no deposit, and use live market prices with virtual money.

How do I open an FxPro demo account?

Register a demo on FxPro's site, choose your platform and account type, set a virtual balance, then install the platform and log in with the server and credentials FxPro emails you.

Does the FxPro demo account expire?

Demo accounts commonly expire after a period of inactivity. Logging in occasionally keeps it alive, and you can always create a new one. Confirm the current window on FxPro's site.

Can I open demos on MT4, MT5 and cTrader at once?

Yes, and it is the best reason to choose FxPro for practice. They are separate demo accounts, so history does not carry across, but you can run them side by side and compare.

What are FxPro's spreads on a demo?

The demo reflects the spreads of the account type you selected, which is why choosing the same type you plan to fund matters. Spreads start around 0.6 pips on some account types, but compare all-in cost including any commission at your lot size.
