Which pattern do the highlighted candles form?

What this tool actually tells you

This drills candlestick recognition against real chart shapes with instant feedback, so the patterns stop being diagrams in a textbook and start being things you spot at a glance.

Worth being clear about what recognition is: a prerequisite, not an edge. Knowing a shape's name tells you what just happened between buyers and sellers. It doesn't tell you what happens next, and any course selling it as a prediction system is selling you something.

Worked example

A hammer candle, and what its shape is actually reporting.

Open1.0850
Low (sellers pushed here)1.0800
Close (buyers reclaimed)1.0848
Long lower wick50 pips rejected

Sellers drove price 50 pips down and lost almost all of it by the close. That's the entire message — a shift in the balance of pressure, not a buy signal.

How to read the result

  • Score climbing over repeated sessions means you're reading structure, not memorising pictures.
  • The patterns you consistently miss are worth more attention than the ones you already get right.
  • Context decides everything: the same hammer means different things at a trend low and in the middle of a range.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a recognised pattern as a trade trigger on its own.
  • Drilling only on one-minute charts, where most shapes are noise.
  • Learning a dozen exotic formations before the basics are automatic.
